I forgot to say that my husband served in Afghanistan for a year and returned in 2004. He received is VA benefits by 2006 and 2007, which has helped greatly, but doesn't solve the symptoms, which are ongoing. Patience Mason's book "Recovering From the War" is a great resource. Thank you for setting up this site.

I found this on Patience Mason's updated site. My husband is a 100% service connected disabled combat veteran with severe PTSD. I am in a support group locally and see a counselor which all helps, but every day is a challenge, especially since we also have a son and we've recently moved to a fairly isolated location. So I am doing everything I can to get us out and to meet people and to make friends. The support group has helped. I am looking forward to meeting you all in this group, and hopefully to be of support and help along the way.

My husband returned from Iraq in Dec. 2005. He was granted disability through the VA for PTSD in June 2007. It was back dated to January 2006. PTSD affects our life and our marriage in every way. I'm so happy I found this group. I have been dealing with this alone for so long, it will be so nice to talk to people who understand how I feel. Thank you!

Wow! Your dh's counselor told you about the site? That's fantastic, isn't it? I love that we can answer entries here. It should be very helpful.

What a lovely new guestbook! I really like that we can actually write something here without getting cut off at one sentence. Even better, it is possible to ask a question and get an answer from the managers of the group without actually joining the group. This could be a very useful tool.

Yes, I certainly agree. I especially like the look of the layout and the visual separation between a guest's message and the reply by the manager. Isn't this cool?!
